How many citrus varieties do you need? Here is why we may be the wrong people to ask!

This is going to sound crazy.. but we more than doubled the citrus tree varieties we have growing in the greenhouse!  After the last bunch of budwood we got in, we are now well over 500 (Five Hundred) certified citrus varieties in the greenhouse!  I have just gotten them all added to the website, the new ones are in a new collection called "Our Newest Citrus Varieties". 

The process and whats next:

• We ordered certified budwood from both the Citrus Clonal Protection Program and Florida Budwood.  
• Once they arrived we got to work getting them all grafted so they can start pushing new growth.  These trees will end up being our "increase trees" which will be the certified mother trees we have in the nursery.  Those trees will be grown out and once budwood is available from them, we will grow out trees to sell. 
• We often have more grafts take, than the number of increase trees we need so its very likely we will have a few of each to sell in the next 3-4 months.  Be sure to click to be notified when we add stock of any varieties you are interested in and you will be notified when those initial few are available to purchase!
